I love the song from Sound of Music that says “these are a few of my favorite things”! One of my favorite things is coffee, and to drink coffee you must have a coffee mug! I don’t own a set of matching mugs, but instead I have a cabinet full of favorite mugs that I’ve collected over the years.
So, what makes a mug special enough to be one of my favorites? Well, I love that each one has it’s own special story, and that each one brings to mind a different person or place when I use it. I also like to take time to say a prayer for the person who gave me the mug as I use it.
Also – Handles are important! I don’t like little bitty handles that are made for 1 or 2 fingers. I like the big handle that all 4 fingers fit in so I can hold the mug close to my hand and wrap my fingers around it.
Here are some of my favorites!
I’ve had this cup for years! It used to have a matching partner, but it broke. I don’t remember where I got it, but I’ve always loved cobalt blue, and it makes me think of the ocean water. I love the size and the handle.
This one is actually my husbands favorite coffee mug! We have a set of these but they all have different colors on the inside. For some reason, he just loves this one and is actually quite possessive of it if I try to serve it to guests. While he’s gone, I love to use it and feel close to him!
This mug was a gift from my mom a few years ago, and is still one of my favorites! It’s one of my favorite Bible verses and I love the butterflies. It makes me think of not only my mom, but the Lord as well!
This was a gift from my other mom (Hubby’s mom), and it also has one of my favorite verses on the other side! I love the colors and design too. Lovebug loves to pick out this one or the previous one for me because she knows they are some of my favorite scriptures.
This one was a gift from one of my dearest friends and it touches my heart every time I see it. This friend moved away from the Dallas area a little before we did, and went to Paris (Texas, not France). Paris is also close to where my mom grew up. On my last visit with my friend before we moved out of Texas, she bought me this cup. We have shared many stories over the years with coffee in hand and I can just feel her near me when I use it!
This one was also a gift from my mom, and is special for our current season in life. I wear that badge with honor!
So, if you ever want to send me a gift, you know what to give me!
