Hi! I’m Stacy! Let me first introduce you to the loves of my life!

Hubby

I am so blessed to be married to a man I respect & adore, who makes me laugh, and who still takes my breath away after 10 years of marriage! He’s my best friend and the love of my life! He spent 7 years in the Army, got out for a while to come meet & marry me After 8 years of marriage, God called him to re-join the Army, so he did!  In between his times in the Army he spent a few years teaching SCUBA diving (how we met!) and working in the IT field.  He loves Led Zeppelin, Johnny Cash, Stevie Ray Vaughn and country music.  He doesn’t like Jimmy Buffett but indulges me anyway   His ideal job would be running a SCUBA shop in the islands with me, and that’s been our dream since we first got together.  He loves my meatloaf & mashed potatoes, Guinness beer, & dark chocolate.  He can’t stand raisins or olives.

After being told by doctors that we would never get pregnant, God blessed us with this amazing little girl! She makes me laugh every day, and she teaches me so much when I slow down enough to see the world through her eyes! She loves all animals and creatures big and small, is a walking encyclopedia, and her favorite subjects are math & science (handwriting is her nemesis though!). She is a nature girl through and through!  She could spend hours digging in the mud, at the beach or swimming in a pool.   Her favorite animal is elephants. Her favorite color is RED.  She has no interest in dolls or princessy stuff, but she loves collecting treasures of all kinds from bottlecaps and marbles to seashells and pinecones.  Her favorite food in the world is watermelon, but she will tell you that her favorite fruit is strawberries (not watermelon because that’s her favorite FOOD!).  She has more energy than Hubby and I put together and gets excited over the smallest things, which I just love.  She is an insatiable reader and can always be found with a book (or 10!) nearby.  She is a creature of habit and routine, and extremely literal.  She makes me happy every single day, and I am so blessed that God chose me to be her Mommy!

I’ve been married to my best friend and love of my life for 10 years.  We have been through what seems like a lifetime of good times, fun experiences, and trials together over the years, and I’m blessed to be able to say that by the grace of God we are stronger and closer because of each and every one of them!

In 2010, I became a Midlife Army Wife when our family recently went through one of the biggest changes ever! We became an Army family, moved to another state, and went straight into a deployment almost before we could catch our breath.  My husband has served in the Army before, for 7 years before I met him, so he’s familiar with this journey, but I’m learning as I go! I was as civilian as they come before marrying my husband. I’ve always had the utmost respect for those that served, but being with him has brought that to a completely new level. We truly feel that this life change is our calling and where God wants us to be. I’m super excited because I’ve always wanted to move somewhere new, and now I will have a chance to do that many times.

I am a follower and disciple of Christ, and could not get through a single day of my life without His strength and grace.  I am blessed way more than I deserve.

I am a homeschooling mom to my cherished & precious daughter, who has special needs.  I absolutely love teaching her, and learning right along with her!

I love to cook and to make family friendly (mostly organic and gluten free) foods that are tasty, but also fun for kids.

I don’t buy lots of clothes or shoes (usually content with my flip flops and a great pair of boots), but I do have my weaknesses!   I have at least 1 bite of chocolate every single day.  I also adore my coffee and have no plans to give it up.

I am addicted to books, but can’t stand to pay full price for them, so I shop thrift stores, garage sales, etc. and feel giddy when I walk out of the library with a stack of books that I don’t have to pay for! I also get way too excited about school supplies.  Colored paper, cute pens, colored paper clips – good thing I homeschool and get to use them often!

I take thousands of pictures, and would love to someday take a photography class so that I could match my skill with my interest.

I’m “Kinda Crunchy”.

My favorite flavor of ice cream is vanilla topped with Magic Shell.

My favorite flower is a Stargazer Lily.

My favorite place to go is the beach, or a cabin in the woods.  I love being in the middle of God’s wonderful creation.
